Roya Gerami

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with clinical experience both in Iran and in Toronto. My approach is grounded in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we can explore your experiences at your pace. I don’t believe people need to be fixed. I believe that when emotions and behaviours are understood within the context of life experiences, relationships, and the nervous system, meaningful growth becomes possible.

Therapy with me is a collaborative and compassionate process. I work with adults who are navigating difficult emotions, the impact of trauma, and important life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why certain situations affect them so deeply. My role is to help you make sense of these experiences in a way that feels respectful, supportive, and empowering.

My work is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and collaborative. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and emotion-focused strategies, while always adapting therapy to your unique needs, values, and cultural background. Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, self-compassion, and practical tools that support lasting change.

If you are looking for a therapist who offers warmth, clarity, and a growth-oriented approach, I would be honoured to support you.

Jasmeet Butani - Psychotherapist

Jasmeet Butani

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but I strive to make sure that step feels as safe and supported as possible. I am committed to creating a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients can openly share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of being judged.
I believe that every person’s story matters. My approach to therapy is holistic, trauma-informed, and relational, meaning I consider the whole person—mind, body, and life experiences—when supporting healing and growth. I draw from evidence-based, client-centered therapeutic approaches, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs, goals, and strengths of the individual.
My work focuses on helping clients feel safe, empowered, and understood. I collaborate closely with my clients, supporting them as they build insight, develop coping tools, and move toward greater balance and emotional well-being.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and later pursued a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy, giving me a deeper understanding of the connection between physical and emotional health.
My work is also shaped by my own life experiences, including being a full-time caregiver and growing up within a diverse social and cultural environment. These experiences allow me to bring empathy, patience, and cultural understanding into my work. I believe that our personal journeys, relationships, and environments all play an important role in shaping who we are.
I speak English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu fluently, and I welcome individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds who may feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their native language.
My goal is to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges, helping them rediscover their strengths and move toward a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and hopeful.
